Audio/visual unsynchronized: While Hattie is playing the piano near the end of the movie, her arm movements clearly do not match the rhythm of the music we hear.
Continuity: Towards the end of the film, Dr. Wilbur mentions that Sybil has been under her care for more than 12 years. However, except for childhood flashbacks, the entire films appears to take place in the mid-Seventies (cars, movie marquees, fashions, hair styles) and no one ages a bit over the course of more than a decade.
Audio/visual unsynchronized: In the scene where Sybil first goes to see Dr. Wilbur and explains what happened in the water, we hear her say "... and I was in the water." But her mouth says something different.
Continuity: When Dr. Wilbur confronts Sybil's father with Sybil's childhood injuries she holds Sybil's medical records in her hand. When the camera cuts to a different angle they are now on the table.
Continuity: While Sybil is talking to Richard near the horse carriage, the same woman wearing a brown top passes by five times.
Continuity: When Sybil and Richard first ride the subway, a man wearing a hat is sitting next to them. Hours later, when they return on the subway, the same man is sitting next to them again.
Continuity: On the day Sybil meets Dr. Wilbur, just before she "awakens" in the doctor's office we see a close shot of Dr. Wilbur's right hand as she takes notes. There is a ring on the doctor's right index finger. Then we switch immediately to wider shot of the doctor still writing, but there is no longer a ring on her right hand. It is clear that there was no break in writing between the shots.
Continuity: In the scene where Sybil and Dr. Wilbur are at the piano, Sybil begins playing With a Song in My Heart, however her hands are still on top of the piano when the music begins.
